Resins (cold enamels)
Tutor - Clare John
2 day Resins course - £140 to include materials - bring packed lunch
Saturday and Sunday 11th and 12th September 2010 - 10am - 4pm
This is a 2 day workshop which will give jewellery makers the opportunity to use resin in different ways. We will be experimenting with cold enamel, embedding photos and objects in resin, making RTV silicone moulds, casting resin and applying gel resin to rings. There will be time to discuss using resin with metal clay and traditional jewellery. We will practise finishing techniques and problem solving.
You will be supplied with plated jewellery blanks and all resin materials. Please bring an apron, a cardboard box to transport jewellery home (size of a shoe box but not necessarily that deep) and any jewellery that you would like to put resin into (we will decide whether it is suitable on the day). You are also welcome to bring items to embed e.g. photographs, postcards, beads, fabric, lace, etc. If you are planning to bring PMC items to add resin to, they need to have been made from PMC3 or PMC+ (PMC original is too porous).
